Love It or Hate It – YSL Cage Shoes

Posted by Sophie on February 18, 2009

Gladiator shoes gone mad… LOL!  Haven’t seen anything quite like the Yves Laurent cage shoes (YSL Spring 09).  Such architectural appeal to them.  The CAGE BOOTS are the most eye-catching of all… they seem very airy and comfy like wearing a pull up sock with a bunch of holes in them.  Spend $1400 to find out how they actually feel… let me know!

Or, get the look for less right here!

TOMS Wrap Boots $98

TOMS Wrap Boots $98

Did I sprain my ankle?  No!  It’s rather a stylish Tom’s Wrap Boot that is ultra comfy and flexible.  The boot is Inspired by the beauty and tradition of Argentine polo and the elegant, brightly colored leg wraps of its champion horses.

The most exciting thing about Toms Shoes is that for every pair purchased, TOMS will give a pair of shoes to a child in need.  One for One.  TOMSshoes.com.  A child will have shoes on your behalf.  How cool!

You don’t have to wait in line to give this season.  Treat yourself with a pair of these unique boots and also protect their little feet!

Not functional as boots but rather wanna be boots… a part boot, part pump Cut That by Irregular Choice is rather cool looking.  The tiered design and the extra side flap gives you that rock’ n roll edge.  The heel is just about the right height too.  Cut that side flap and just turn them into regular pumps if you’d like.  They are $144.

Love It or Hate It

I’ve seen the heel-less shoes but how about sole-less heels?  I seriously can’t help but think that these shoes are not functional and really quite ugly.  They look like leg braces for sprained ankles with black tape wrapped all over.  The shoes debuted as part of the London Fashion Week Spring 09 Collections… and I don’t see these being trendy at all unless you want a pair of nasty feet!  Pretty silly overall.

Victoria Beckham Goes Heel-Less

Posted by Sophie on September 30, 2008

Victoria Beckham gets lots of attention, not only with her mannish hair but with her shoes at the launch of the couple’s Beckham Signature fragrance collection at Macy’s in New York.  These $4000 heel-less heels(?) are designed by Antonio Berardi, with super high platforms and invisible 5 1/2 inch heels.

I really think you can pull off these platforms as Victoria Beckham did as long as you don’t walk much and be extra careful with them.  I don’t see them being too uncomfortable.  These shoes look more awkward than they probably actually feel.  Many seem to agree on how ugly the shoes are but I think they are intriguing.
