Not functional as boots but rather wanna be boots… a part boot, part pump Cut That by Irregular Choice is rather cool looking. The tiered design and the extra side flap gives you that rock’ n roll edge. The heel is just about the right height too. Cut that side flap and just turn them into regular pumps if you’d like. They are $144.

I’ve seen the heel-less shoes but how about sole-less heels? I seriously can’t help but think that these shoes are not functional and really quite ugly. They look like leg braces for sprained ankles with black tape wrapped all over. The shoes debuted as part of the London Fashion Week Spring 09 Collections… and I don’t see these being trendy at all unless you want a pair of nasty feet! Pretty silly overall.

Victoria Beckham gets lots of attention, not only with her mannish hair but with her shoes at the launch of the couple’s Beckham Signature fragrance collection at Macy’s in New York. These $4000 heel-less heels(?) are designed by Antonio Berardi, with super high platforms and invisible 5 1/2 inch heels.
I really think you can pull off these platforms as Victoria Beckham did as long as you don’t walk much and be extra careful with them. I don’t see them being too uncomfortable. These shoes look more awkward than they probably actually feel. Many seem to agree on how ugly the shoes are but I think they are intriguing.

Here is the spring 2009 collection from Scherer Gonzalez. A floral-inspired theme that is somewhat over the top but very feminine. Beautiful shoes for strutting down the runway. If you love the look you could always find your favorite heels, head down to your local Michael’s and make this a do-it-yourself project.
